Le belge Walter De Backer, alias GOTYE, nous a pondu 3 ou 4 albums depuis Melbourne en Australie et une poignée de maxi remarquables. Son nouvel album Making Mirrors est dans les bacs. Pour ma part il m’avait déjà titillé le tympan en 2006 avec son disque Like Drawing Blood.

The special CD/DVD edition of Making Mirrors has a bunch of extras. The DVD contains four film clips and two short documentaries about the recording of the album. This package also includes a free download card for the b-side Dig Your On Hole.
The package is a matte-finish cardboard sleeve, comprising a 16 page booklet with lyrics and credits, and a printed paper sleeve for both CD and DVD.

The DVD is coded 'ALL REGIONS' for international viewing.

Le label de Miles Cleret SOUNDWAY RECORDS édite une très belle compilation consacrée à la cumbia. Une sélection réalisée par Will Holland alias QUANTIC, une recherche minutieuse de cinq années, 30ans de cumbia passée au crible, un travail tant sur le plan historique qu’iconographique remarquable, comme toujours d’ailleurs chez Soundway, un label auteur d’un parcours sans faute jusqu’à présent.

Herzfeld – Two Mothers premier 45t dont je viens d’acquérir les droits et je le réédite donc pour janvier ou février 2012. Un 7″ paru en 1993 sur Duophonic le label de Stereolab, les titres ne figurent pas sur le 10″ The Sack.

Je suis très fier de vous présenter ma première réédition. Alors pourquoi le choix de cet artiste et de ce disque en particulier? Pour plusieurs raisons: Tout d’abord parce que c’est un de mes tout premiers vinyles acheté (à l’époque où j’ai débuté chez Babouin Record) puis, parce que c’est un disque qui me ressemble et surtout parce que Malcolm Eden a toujours eu un engagement politique et cela me touche plus que tout car je crois que son combat est plus que jamais d’actualité. J’ai aussi le secret espoir de pouvoir lui remettre le pied a l’étrier parce que je pense que c’est un bon album qui certes ne révolutionne pas la musique mais qui est sincère et juste et qui, de plus, vieillit bien. Pour finir, je crois plus que jamais en l’objet disque et en particulier au vinyle.

Malcolm Eden was the vocalist and guitarist in the indie pop group McCarthy between 1985 and 1990. Eden wrote the far left leaning lyrics of the band.

He later formed the short-lived Herzfeld, who released an EP and a 10-inch album on the Duophonic label.

In 2005, he contributed vocals to two tracks, « Where You Are », and « True Light », to That Summer’s Clear album.
